Tax Policy

The Oregon Advantage

Because we are an independent, single-location business based in Oregon, we do not have a "physical nexus" (a legal business presence) in other states.

What this means for you:
For the majority of our customers across the United States, we are not required to collect sales tax on your purchase. This typically results in a 7–10% savings compared to national retailers who are required to collect tax in every state.

Important Details:

Automatic Calculation
Our system calculates sales tax based on your specific shipping address at checkout.

Economic Nexus
In compliance with state laws, if our sales volume to a specific state exceeds that state's "Economic Nexus" threshold, we are required by law to collect and remit sales tax for orders shipped to that state.

Use Tax
While we may not be required to collect sales tax on your order, your state may require you to report the purchase and pay "use tax." Please consult your local tax guidelines for more information.

Specs & Features
  • Built with a lightweight version of an ultradurable face fabric from our Steel Forge Workwear jacket, the high-tensile 98% recycled nylon/2% recycled polyester Ultra-PE ripstop protects the 800-fill-power down from abrasion so that you can move freely even when you’re 15 pitches off the deck
  • Comfortable lining is lighter than the exterior fabric to reduce bulk for better packability; it’s also soft and quiet to help you find a pocket of calm when you’re trying hard
  • Generous hood with a high draft collar pulls easily over a helmet for total warmth; soft, elasticized binding at the hood, cuffs and hem seal out the elements
  • Two-way, center-front Vislon® zipper with two internal storm flaps that snap together at the hem makes it belay device-compatible without exposure to the elements
  • Broad shoulders and discontinuous quilting provide mobility and loft; an exterior loop at the back of the neck allows you to clip to the belay with the durable, weather-resistant shell facing outward
  • Two generous zippered handwarmer pockets allow easy access at a hanging belay, and parka self-stuffs into the left pocket; two interior drop-in mesh pockets keep gloves or climbing shoes warm
  • Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory, which means the people who made this product earned a premium for their labor
